The following Code of Conduct outlines the expectations and responsibilities of faculty members at Government Polytechnic Morni. Faculty members are expected to uphold these standards to maintain a professional, respectful, and productive learning environment.
1. General Conduct:
- Faculty members must be punctual and adhere to their designated duty hours.
- They should remain present on campus during the official working hours of the institute.
- Faculty members are expected to maintain a professional, cooperative, and respectful demeanor with colleagues, staff, and students.
- Any form of rude, abusive behavior, negative remarks against colleagues, or personal and irrelevant verbal attacks is strictly prohibited.
- Faculty should take necessary precautions to protect and maintain the institute’s equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Engaging in private tuition or unauthorized coaching is strictly prohibited.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding institutional information and do not share it without proper authorization.
2. Academic Responsibilities:
- Perform teaching, research, consultancy, and administrative duties with dedication, integrity, and impartiality.
- Attend and actively participate in meetings, events, and activities organized by the Principal, HODs, and Coordinators.
- Accept and fulfill additional responsibilities assigned by the Principal, including academic and evaluation tasks.
- Complete evaluation duties for Continuous Internal Evaluation (CIE) and Semester End Examinations (SEE) promptly, ensuring no delays in the process.
- Be accessible to students beyond classroom hours for doubt clarification and guidance.
- Treat students with respect and encourage a respectful attitude among them toward others.
- Be well-prepared for each class and stay focused on the prescribed topics.
- Arrive at the classroom five minutes before the scheduled start time.
- Maintain accurate records of lesson plans, attendance, and course-related documentation.
- Follow the designated curriculum and meet the set learning objectives effectively.
- Do not reschedule, cancel, or dismiss a class without prior approval from the HOD/Principal.
- Ensure full presence and attentiveness during practical sessions.
- Evaluate tests and assignments promptly, maintaining transparency in the evaluation process.
- Incorporate visual aids, interactive learning methods, and PowerPoint presentations (PPTs) alongside traditional teaching techniques wherever suitable.
- Provide academic counseling to students regarding course registration, re-registration, course withdrawals, and other academic matters.
Adherence to the Code:
Faculty members are expected to adhere strictly to this Code of Conduct. Violations may result in disciplinary action as deemed appropriate by the institute’s administration. The Principal’s decisions on all disciplinary matters shall be considered final and binding.
